Description of the tool

The Reference Data tool can be used to publish and maintain code sets and their metadata. It enables you to produce hierarchical code sets, create code set extensions, mark code sets with variants and produce versions of code sets.

Published code lists can be versioned and linked to other code lists. The metadata for the code lists is also extendable, which makes it possible to publish different types of domain specific attributes and hierarchies.

The Terminologies tool definitions can be used with the Reference Data tool. Reference data service is also integrated to the Data Vocabularies, which makes it easier to reuse common codes and implement the matching value restrictions to the data models.
