The Data Modelling Tool is part of the Interoperability Platform (metadata portal), which was developed for supporting to support the interoperability and transparency between the public sector organisations. The tool provides means for both public and private sector organisations to publish and maintain the descriptions of the data they own. The tool is intended specifically for describing the data to be transferred in information exchanges between different various actors as well as in different variety of data streams.
The ultimate purpose for the Data Vocabularies Tool is to secure the conformity and the reusability of the data and to preserve the meaning of the data , when the data is transferred between different various actors. It is necessary for the users and information systems to be able to understand each other right correctly when the data is moved from one system to another.
The tool is used for describing, publishing, and maintaining the technology-independent data models - logical data models - which describe, for example, the data content or structure of an interface or a data model of an information system. There are two types of data models:
